Krista Ewer Bio

Krista

Ewer

Artist

Krista Ewer is a self-taught queer artist from London, Ontario Canada.  As far back as she can remember she has been using art as an ultimate form of self-expression.

Her practice relies heavily on the inspiration she finds spending time in nature and with people. Her love for colour is evident in her work, as each unique piece connects with the audience in a familiar and abstract way, utilizing bold colour and high energy.  Her preferred medium varies from acrylics to watercolours to alcohol inks and resin. Krista continues to experiment with her art and push traditional boundaries and expectations.

For the past 20+ years she has been dedicated to exploring new mediums and techniques.  The therapeutic results of creating and sharing art with people has been one of the joys of her artistic journey.  Showcasing her art in various exhibitions and art shows keeps her connected to fellow artists and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.  She also creates and sells her art to help support local organizations she feels strongly connected to.

Most recently, to challenge her development as an artist she participated in and won the Southwestern Ontario Art Battle Championship for 2019.  In 2020, Krista’s art graced the cover of the book, Grand by Charles Johnson.  Her piece, 'Feather Dream' has been displayed in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.  Her works can be found in private collections around the globe.

When she’s not in the studio you can find her immersed in her other passions, teaching as a tennis & pickleball coach and navigating life with her two amazing kids.
